Sea Drifter — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 6 September 2026  ·  Last updated: 6 September 2026

Sea Drifter does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information. There are no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking. This policy explains what that means in practice.

Short version The game runs on your device. Your progress is saved only on your device. The optional co-operative mode connects two devices directly over your own local network. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Sea Drifter mobile application ("the game", "the app") published for Android on Google Play and for iOS / iPadOS on the Apple App Store by ⟨Xerxz⟩ ("we", "us"). It does not cover the separate PC version distributed on Steam (see Section 7).

2. Information we collect

None. The app contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no social or login integrations. We have no servers that receive data from the app. We do not ask for your name, e-mail, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, precise or coarse location, or advertising identifiers, and the app does not request those permissions.

3. Information stored on your device

The game writes two files to its private app storage:

These files stay in the app's own sandbox on your device. They are not readable by us or by other apps, are not backed up to any service we control, and are permanently deleted when you uninstall the app or clear the app's data. (Your device operating system may include them in a user-initiated system backup that you control, for example an encrypted iCloud or Google device backup. We never see that backup.)

4. Local multiplayer (co-op)

Sea Drifter offers an optional drop-in co-operative mode. When you host or join a co-op game:

Because messages travel over a local network you control, keep co-op play to networks you trust.

5. Internet access

The Android build declares the INTERNET permission. It is used solely to open local-network sockets for the co-op mode described above. The app makes no outbound calls to any website, API, or content server, and displays no web content.

6. Children's privacy

Sea Drifter is suitable for players aged roughly 10 and up (stylised, bloodless ship-to-ship combat). It is not directed at children under 13, and because the app collects no data at all, it collects no data from children. It is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families programme or Apple's Kids category.

7. Third parties

8. Data security

Since we hold no user data, there is no server-side database to breach. On-device save files are protected by your device's own app-sandboxing and storage encryption.

9. Your rights

You are in full control of the only data that exists: the local save. You can erase it at any time from the in-game menu ("New Voyage" overwrites it), by clearing the app's storage in your device settings, or by uninstalling the app. We have nothing to export or delete on your behalf because we hold nothing.

10. Changes to this policy

If a future update adds any feature that changes how data is handled (for example optional online play, crash reporting, or analytics), we will update this policy, change the "Last updated" date above, and describe the change in the app's store release notes before that version ships.
